The World Premiere
2nd of July
Hello you guys,
So here’s the big news, on the 2nd of July, we will be hosting an album release party and WORLD PREMIERE of the Big Eagle, Hunting in the Wind! VISUAL ALBUM.
That’s right - alongside the album, there is a film comprised of nine musical vignettes, threaded together. We will be showing the film in the cinema at the legendary Olympic Studios in Barnes, London.
And what’s more? It’s FREE! You can RSVP here :)
We’ve worked so hard on making this film, it’s taken some time, and it’s taken a village. Honestly, the community around this project, and the communities that have grown and branched off as a result of it, are the most special thing to me. You’re going to hear me say this a lot in the coming months.
Being able to give this a proper showing means everything. We’ll be there celebrating together, it’s one day after the album releases and we’ll be watching the film on the big screen! What could be better than that?
Playlist
This is a collection of stuff that’s been passing through my system as the spring becomes summer.
This playlist has some nice rock and some nice folkier stuff, really just music that helps me put up with the heat (and the weird rain that comes through here as well).
Special guest on the playlist is once again Mr Sean Rogan - a true hero and a true friend. He might be my favourite musician. His new song Closing Night is so beautiful, easy to get lost in, hypnotic. Thank you for the music buddy.
More News
Something I want to shout about here is that I shared a lovely conversation with Hannah Nepilova of The Cusp Magazine. We spoke about recording processes - for my two albums as well as a mystery project I was working on last year; and musical energy, from inspiration to execution; and some personal/upbringing stuff as well. Please have a read here!
It’s quite rare that I like to speak about the way I record and my approach to ideas and inspiration. It was a pleasure talking to Hannah about it. And it’s relieving that it came out better than the last interview I did with the Mail a few weeks ago…
… Brilliant.
The End
I know this is a pathetically short Substack from me this time. I’ve been busy getting to release this album and planning all the fun around it. I’ve started a new job, too, which has taken up a lot of my time, I’m working on my latte art.
Love you guys, see you at the premiere!
Regards,
Luca
